 Training TIPS

Here are some links to Training tips for beginers we recommend

for either Japanese Spitz or Alaskan Malamutes.

The earlier you start training, the more progress you and your dog will make. “You only get what you put in.”

Start small at home with treat exercises and vocal commands.

This will build a good rapport between you and your dog,

with all of the dog’s focus on you .

With any training do short sessions but regularly.

Try 5-10 minuets a session 2-3 times  day with  breaks in between.

As soon as your puppy has good focus on you and has learnt to walk a bit on the lead start introducing things  that can be distracting.

Distractions could be anything from someone approaching the puppy

or seeing another dog/animal on a walk etc.

Something  the puppy gets excited about or wants to go see.

Reinforce your focus training in these moments so you keep the dogs attention on you without pulling or getting too excited.

Joining a local ring-craft or an obedience class is a fantastic way to socialise your puppy or dog in a controlled environment.
